The answer is it doesn’t matter. If it doesn’t work out you can leave.
Nothing in this world is forever and there is always a way out. So don’t let your fear of being trapped stop you from progressing. Follow your dream because you will never forgive yourself if you don’t.
Last month I trained a young woman who had been made redundant 6 months prior. She had attended a number of interviews and been unsuccessful. Her confidence was at a very low ebb and she felt despondent about her ability to ever get a job. Her big stumbling block was how to answer the question around how she had lost her job. I coached her around how to address this question in a confident and honest manner. She watched and heard herself deliver a coherent and positive message and I immediately saw the change taking place. She took control of the interview process and became animated and positive about what she wanted to do.
She telephoned me yesterday to say she had completed her final interview and had been offered a job.
The techniques she learned had helped her overcome her nerves, gain confidence and project the capable, professional person she was.
"We regret to inform you that you have not been selected on this occasion." It’s crushing and many candidates simply don’t know why it happening. I can help so do get in touch.
As people approach the end of furlough during the COVID pandemic, more and more are becoming anxious about job prospects. While some will have had recent interview experience many will not. Assessment centres, competency questions and psychometric testing are just one of the many hurdles candidates will face. Zoom interviews are likely to continue for some time and applicants need to make sure they are prepared and ready for the digital experience.
All of these hurdles can be overcome with proper training . The purpose is to take away the crippling tension caused by adrenaline. My objective is always to help my clients present in a calm and composed way. I provide them with the tools to make sure they are in control of the interview and know exactly how to steer it. How to look and present themselves is also key and my training provides key tips and feedback on what to wear and how to look during interview.
So call me if any of these issues are worrying you!
